How To Build A Home Studio
Building a recording studio on a budget. Need some tips and tricks to get the best bang for your buck. Look no further. If I had to start from scratch, here is the gear list that I would pick up. You need a computer then a software to record your audio.
You need an audio interface to get the music into the computer software. You need a microphone to record the music. The microphone connects to your audio interface. You need headphones to hear yourself. Then you need a few accessories like a mic stand, pop filter for your spit. You definitely want to keep that out your microphone, microphone cable, known as XLR cable, and some acoustic treatment so you don't sound like your recording in the bathroom or closet.
Speaking of closet, don't put the microphone in your closet. Do you know how many times sound will bounce off that wall and come back into your microphone leaving your vocals sounding like you didn't invest in quality gear? Don't worry, I've added some hacks to make your home studio sound pretty good. These are things I do currently and you wouldn't know I didn't record it in a studio.
Here is my gear list below.
